Word of the day backronym

The opposite of producing an acronym, a backronym is a word that becomes an acronym. Take an existing word and create a phrase using the letters of the word as initials. For instance, in the UK COP stands for Constable On Patrol. SOS was devised as an easy-to-recognise distress signal, so they came up with the backronym Save Our Souls to remember it. It comes from back + acronym. UNI has been known, among other things, as Under No Illusions.
